ASTM awards prof. Ing. Jan Džugan Ph.D.

At this year's spring meeting of the ASTM International Committee on Uniaxial Testing in Philadelphia on May 7, 2024, Prof. Ing. Jan Dzhugan Ph.D. (Director of Research and Development of the research organization COMTES FHT a.s.) was awarded the ASTM award for his long-term efforts in the field of implementation of miniature test specimens into international standards for mechanical testing.

The results of the work of Prof. Dzhugan and COMTES FHT researchers have led to the incorporation of evaluation methods using miniature specimens into several international standards for materials testing, including one of the most widely used standards in this field, "ASTM E8/E8M-24 Standard Test Methods for Tensile Testing of Metallic Materials".
